How does the Advanced Lead and Salt-Free Water Softening With UV system by REN Water work?

This system employs a highly efficient 4-stage process specifically curated to remove commonly found contaminants in home water supplies:

Stage 1: When water enters the system it is first met by our 5-micron Sediment with Scale Filter. This stage will remove any rock, sand, Scale and debris that is as small as 5 -microns (For an idea of how small that is, a human hair is typically 50-microns). As the water passes through our sediment with scale filter our salt-free conditioning resins, located in the center of the filter, are softening your hard water issues. Our method requires no added chemicals, no salt bags, and is your environmentally friendly solution to hard water. It works by a process known as Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC). This process doesn't use any chemical alterations! The high contents of calcium and magnesium ions undergo a physically altering process which sees them go from a destructive ion form to a harmless crystalline structure. Our customers should expect the reduction and removal of limescale buildup, cloudy particles, bad after tastes, smelly water, and better flow rates.

Stage 2: Our 5-micron Carbon filter is YOUR solution for chlorine removal. This filter attacks the harmful high-contents of chlorine in your water supply. Our carbon media is embedded inside the filter which reduces Chlorine, Odors, and Tastes. It works by an adsorption process. This works with our activated carbon attracting incoming contaminants and neutralizing them so they don't seep through into your water supply. Additionally, our carbon filter will address PFAS (forever chemicals), Chloramine, Fluorides, Herbicides, Pesticides, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and much more.

Stage 3: Our Lead filter is specifically engineered to remove down to 0.5-microns lead contamination in water supply. 0.5 microns! It doesn't just stop at lead. This filter is also rated for Volatile Organic Compounds and Cysts! Over time these can be VERY dangerous to adults and ESPECIALLY harmful to children. Our filter employs a specially curated activated carbon design to actively absorb lead found in water supply.

Ultra-violet (UV) Water Purification System

STAGE 4: Our Ultra-violet Purification works effectively at eliminating various microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. REN Water's UV systems are installed at the home's water line so ALL the incoming water is treated. The water enters our stainless steel vessel which undergoes the exposure of UV light. The light is emitted from our UV lamp at the heart of the steel chamber. The UV lamp emits wavelengths of ultraviolet light, specifically 254 nanometers. Why? Well this range is known to be highly safe and effective in disrupting the DNA and RNA of microorganisms, rendering them harmless.

All our systems are engineered to handle houses with up 16 GPM (Gallons Per Minute). This is perfect for residential applications as the average water usage is 6-12 GPM (Gallons Per Minute)

There is very little maintenance required for our systems. We don't require preset backwashing times, or any drainage setup with our systems. We don't require you to wait 48 hours for media to soak when install or replace media.

Once a year take 10 minutes out of your day and replace the filter cartridge. No plumber needed!

Absolutely, city water contains high amounts of chlorine. Legally, water treatment centers must use chlorine to disinfect the water before it reaches your home. REN Water's Carbon filter will remove odors, tastes, and reduce chlorine from your water. We highly recommend adding filters to your home to protect your family and your valuable possessions.

We recommended purchasing one of our water test kits and testing your water at certified water testing location near you. Since the magnesium and calcium stays inside your water with a salt-free filter a water test will not gauge the systems effectiveness. Instead inspect your faucets and plumbing to see the benefits.

This Activated Carbon filtration system works by removing contaminants in a two-stage process. First our 5-Micron Sediment filter removes all kinds of debris all the way down to 5-microns. This pre-filter allows our next stage filter to work as efficient as possible. Second, our Activated Carbon filter works efficiently at removing chlorine, tastes, and odors
